Please do not provide sensitive personal information or information about other people when submitting a property request unless we specifically ask you to do so.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Understand your property requirements
  • Review and assess your property search
  • Identify relevant estate agents, land agents or other property professionals
  • Send relevant information about your property requirements to appropriate agents
  • Communicate with you about your search

We do not currently use your personal information to make automated decisions about you or to carry out automated profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effect.

4. Sharing your information with property agents

The main purpose of BRIXSO is to connect people looking for specific types of property with relevant professionals.

Where appropriate, we may share information from your property search with one or more relevant estate agents, land agents or other property professionals.

We only aim to share information that is relevant to the agent's ability to assist with your property search. Where we share your personal information with an agent, that agent will become responsible for how it subsequently uses that information. The agent may provide you with their own privacy information where required. When they sign up to BRIXSO they agree to use the buyer brief for their own property matching purposes, not to sell it on and to abide by the 60-day rule of deleting prospects. A copy of the BRIXSO agency privacy policy can be requested by emailing hello@brixso.co.uk.

5. Our lawful basis for using your information

UK data protection law requires us to have a lawful basis for processing personal information. Depending on the circumstances, we may rely on:

  • Legitimate interests — where processing your information is necessary for us to operate BRIXSO and provide a service connecting property seekers with relevant property professionals.
  • Contract or steps taken at your request before entering into a contract — where processing is necessary to provide a service you have requested from us.
  • Consent — where we specifically ask for your consent, for example where required for certain types of marketing or communications.
  • Legal obligation — where we are required to process or retain information to comply with the law.

Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time.

6. Marketing

We will not use your personal information for marketing purposes unless you have provided that consent. You can unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time by contacting us at hello@brixso.co.uk. There are currently no marketing campaigns planned.

7. How long we keep your information

We do not keep buyer information indefinitely. Our current approach is to retain buyer search information for approximately 60 days. This helps us keep searches current and reduces the amount of personal information we hold.

We may retain information for longer where:

  • You ask us to continue your search
  • It is necessary to deal with an ongoing enquiry
  • We need to keep records to meet a legal or regulatory obligation
  • We need to establish, exercise or defend legal claims
  • There is another lawful reason for doing so

Where information is no longer required, we will securely delete it or anonymise it where appropriate.

8. Your data protection rights

Under UK data protection law, you may have rights including:

  • The right to be informed about how your personal information is used
  • The right to access the personal information we hold about you
  • The right to ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information
  • The right to ask us to delete your personal information in certain circumstances
  • The right to ask us to restrict how we use your information in certain circumstances
  • The right to object to certain types of processing, including processing based on legitimate interests
  • The right to withdraw consent where we rely on consent
  • The right to data portability in certain circumstances

If you would like to exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@brixso.co.uk. We may need to ask you for information to verify your identity before dealing with a request.

9. Third-party services

BRIXSO may use third-party service providers to operate the website and platform. These may include providers of:

  • Website and hosting services
  • Form and database services
  • Email services
  • Analytics
  • Security and technical services

Where third parties process personal information on our behalf, we will take appropriate steps to ensure that the information is handled securely and in accordance with applicable data protection law. Some service providers may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, we will ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place where required by UK data protection law.

10. Cookies

BRIXSO may use cookies and similar technologies to make the website work properly, understand how the website is used and improve the service. Some cookies may be essential for the operation and security of the website. Where required by law, we will ask for your consent before placing non-essential cookies on your device. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser and, where applicable, our cookie settings.

11. Keeping your information secure

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, alteration or disclosure. However, no website or electronic transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Access to personal information is limited to those who need it for legitimate BRIXSO business purposes.

12. Children's information

BRIXSO is intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not collect personal information from or about children. If you believe that a child has provided personal information to BRIXSO, please contact us so that we can review and delete the information where appropriate.

13. Links to other websites

Our website may contain links to websites operated by third parties. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those websites. We recommend that you read the privacy notice of any third-party website you visit.

14. Changes to this Privacy Notice

15. Complaints

If you have concerns about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first at hello@brixso.co.uk.

You also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). As BRIXSO Ltd predominantly handles the personal data of UK nationals, our supervisory authority is the Information Commissioner's Office. If you believe that we have failed in our compliance with data protection legislation, complaints to this authority can be made by visiting ico.org.uk. Further information about making a complaint can be found on the ICO's website.
